Whoooweeee, the bikechain/180 Team Time
Trial went off today, but not without a few kinks. There
was a mediocre turnout with one sick rider (should be taking
Mona Vie) and one "tired" rider. Most of the pace making
was left to Tim, Ric and Mark. Lets just say we have set
the bar, and it should not be too difficult to beat next time.
Race Results for GSC #6 in Eatonton, GA
show four podium finishes. Chris - 1st, Mark - 2nd, Jim -
4th, Steve - 5th.
The crew has been attending many races
this year with much success. All of the Georgia State
Series has been attended. Chris is most likely going to
win the championship for his class. Jim is currently in a
close battle for first and it is too close to call. In
addition to the GSC, Ric, Darien, Jim and Chris have attended a
national in Birmingham, AL - the Bump and Grind, and the
first-year-back in ten years Thunderbolt Classic. Everyone
has been having fantastic results and it is clear that the team
is feeding off of each other for motivation.
We have temporarily set up a short track
course for some short track racing to keep it interesting
throughout the summer. The course is mostly flat with no
singletrack. Each lap takes about 2.5 minutes at pace.
Our first race was set up more like a dirt crit with a few
different races. The first was a 5 lap race-winner take
all. That was tough. The next "race" was in the form
of sprint laps. We would go hard for a complete lap or a
portion of lap, then regroup for the next lap, or remainder of
the lap. There was definitely some hard efforts in it, and
then we all went for an cool 1 hr chill ride.
